This large Rosenthal deer is depicted in fine detail with exceptional color. A stunning addition to any décor. The male elk, king of the Pacific Northwest, is one of the largest mammals in North America and eastern Asia, as well as one of the largest deer species in the world.

Pieces created by Heidenreich are compared with the best of porcelain like Meissen and Dresden. He was a well-respected artist and created many wonderful many porcelain figurines for Rosenthal, where he was employed from 1919 to 1960. Fritz Heidenreich was the head of the Rosenthal art department in Selb, Bavaria. He became famous for his forest animal and bird sculptures

On the bottom, "F. Heidenreich" is imprinted.

Rosenthal was founded in 1889 in Selb Bavaria by Phillip Rosenthal. The company is still in existence today producing high quality dinnerware and beautiful figurines. According to Judith Miller in her Buyer’s Guide to Ceramic Figures: "Rosenthal work is relatively underrated; it is probably the nearest equivalent to Meissen but is far more affordable."
