Chinese motif, rounded top, most probably Walnut wood with lacquer finish. This exotic Chinoiserie cabinet was crafted in Oriental style called Chinoiserie, the European interpretation and imitation of Chinese and East Asian artistic traditions. First appearing in the 17th century, this trend was popularized in the 18th century due to the rise in trade with China.
CHINOISERIE is a French word that means “in the Chinese taste”. It describes a European style of decorative ornament that was wildly popular in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, and still looks great today. Chinoiserie decoration has the unique feature of combining real elements with fantasy,The bar cabinet has an open top flap desktop, with multiple compartments inside. Below it are two bottom front doors. One the rounded sides there opens more cabinet spaces with shelving.
The artwork is very handsome, with traditional floral motifs and an array of bird and floral on the doors. On the sides are more gold gilt decor. Would make a fine addition to any antique collection.
Storage at it’s best with many secret doors and hidden drawers with an area to store either bottles, glasses or other miscellaneous items.

Condition: Good for its age with minor scuffs. Still, these scuffs don’t detract from the beauty of this piece but simply add to its antique charm. Overall condition is therefore very good.
