Victorian Renaissance Revival Walnut Needlepoint Parlor Armchair circa 1875

This lovely 19th century chair in attractive moss Green color boasts of beautiful floral needlepoint of Roses and other colorful large Garden blossoms on both the   medallion back and on the seat and arms. The chair is of rich walnut wood with detailed carvings and the original casters intact on the front ring turned legs. 

The needlepoint is beautiful in wonderfully muted tones of rose, light persimmons, deep ochre’s, charcoal gray, soft rich olive green, and dusky warm shades of peach. "Garden" of florals - Roses, etc. scrolling leaves in beautiful palette. It has a beautiful aged look and the colors have faded with age only giving it a It has a beautiful aged look and the colors have faded with age only giving it a more distinct beauty.This fine 19th century chair measures 44 inches in height to the top of the back and weighs approximately 25 lbs

This chair is solid and very sturdy with no breaks or repairs we can find and the old needlepoint covering is just lovely but does show some wear and some fading as common with age. I have tried to show this in the close up pictures of the seat..nothing that distracts from the beauty of this chair at all in my opinion.

Elegant Victorian ladies chair. They are sometimes called hip chairs because of the "hip" rails that are added on either side of the seat cushions that provide additional strength to the back of the chair.  The seat is padded and also have springs underneath to provide the most cushion possible and be very comfortable to sit on.

It is comfortable and nice for both daily use and entertaining guests.
