Very nice ornate 19th c. Victorian Gilded Wrought and Cast Iron Kerosene Piano Lamp, Tripod base. Electrified, working, lamp base.
This is a lovely Piano parlor style lamp. The Victorian kerosene oil lamp is from the late 1880’s. The brass lamp was originally kerosene and was professionally converted to electric years ago..
The round-shaped base has heavily embossed floral shaped detail. It still has its original kerosene attachments. The lamp has nice scroll detail and gracefully shaped.
This piano lamp has a beautifully floral scene on the ball shade. This lamp also includes a chimney.
The color of the round globe is made of opaque white glass and cream with a pretty pink floral and green leafage with raised jewel style accent in an opaque sheen. The floral decorations around the walls, and pea-green accents provide a lovely decoration around the globe base.
The overall design is very decorative & of good quality. The brass embossing has a rich & mellow surface patina, but could be polished to look new.
Maker: On the top rim of the brass globe are the words “Made in the USA" in pretty
script.
An example of the superb embossing and brass work that these period lamps were known for. Every square inch of brass on this lamp shows excellent craftsmanship.
Condition: A licensed electrician had installed it a many years ago. It could need some new cord or wiring updates, since Im not knowledgeable about electrical appointments.
