An Empire Style Cabinet Secretary Book Case Flame Mahogany with a pedimented cornice. The cabinet has a tall double door with two arched double panels of glass. Below the rectangular drawers are light wood veneered small multi cubby hole drawers and 6 compartments to store letters.  (Letter slots or opening are traditionally called pigeonhole) There is a a desk that opens out.
This piece has aged very nicely, developing a rich patina and dark color.

Details: 
The divided glass doors are made up of 4 panes of glass. The multitude of drawers and cubbies is iconic. 
Two large cabinet doors house a generous storage space at the bottom. You can use the shelf to store shorter items and taller items can be put in front of it (or behind if you slide the shelf forward).
The entire antique secretary bookcase sits on bracket feet which are strong and provide a traditional look at the bottom. There is a hinged writing flap that opens up, and paneled ends over two lower cupboard doors.

The secretary features a beautiful woodgrain. It is really a stunning piece. There are some veneer chips typical of Empire pieces from this era, mostly around the crown moulding and around the drawer fronts.

The height is about 89 inches tall

Condition: Shows appropriate use wear, markings, there may some chipping and distressed areas.There  was repair to hinge on one door. It does not impair the general integrity. Any antique over 100 years old will have some type of slight or minor imperfections or marks of character…..these time-acquired features often can intrigue collectors to ponder about how the piece must have been used and by whom. Such marks of use and character can add to the authenticity, charm, and desirability of the piece.

This is a very handsome piece and it would make a great addition to any home.
