A hand painted large very heavy French Porcelain urn with an allegorical array of images depicting various figures, foliate sprays, animals and birds. The geometric border at the top and bottom is of a lovely cobalt blue.
Raised roped handles adorn each side and the work is spectacular with bright colors of ochre, green, blue and umber imagery with a handsome ambiance. This is a fine French polychrome 19th century Faience cache pot jardiniere. Circa 1850
Condition: The urn is in very good condition with some firing flaws and minor wear consistent with this type of antique porcelain. There is staining on the white glaze, but has been thoroughly cleaned and many of the yellow spots should clean up. It dates to the mid 19th century and is in overall very good used condition with no major chips, cracks, or repairs. There is a few small spots of losses to the blue decoration, some minor rubbing to the colors light glaze and surface scratches and scuffing here and there, and other signs of light wear consistent with age.
