A slipper/ nursing chair in the Rococo Revival style, of walnut with deeply cabriole front legs resting on porcelain casters. The chair has a simple leaf-carved cresting above a frame of simple " finger molded" walnut. The chair is quite low and armless, which indicates its purpose's.
The piece has its rare original needlework covering with an olive-green ground, all richly embroidered with beadwork in silver and shades of grey. This is an unusual chair, in fine condition. English or Continental, Circa 1850-70.
