A small Sheraton mahogany Gentleman's Basin Stand, with turned legs and life top and fitted compartments for toilet equipment. It has a section for basin, etc. The secondary wood is entirely of mahogany, suggesting that this piece is probably English, about 1810-20, though it could be American.

A 19th century development of the 18th century basin stand, the washstand had assumed a regular table form by about the 1830s. It contains all the necessary accessories for grooming including a wash basin, various places for shaving cups and slots for hair brushes,etc.
24" x 20", top dimensions, 35” tall
Condition: Good for its age but missing some veneer on one side and other minor age blemishes.
